Spring is here and I can't wait to get my flowers planted in my flower beds. I've already started working out in the yard doing clean up, but it's still a bit too early to do any real palnting. However, I have created some cards for my design team for Tickle Trunk Memories that have flowers popping up on them and full of "spring". I loved createing these.

Another hobby I have is cake decorating. I have been doing cakes for quite a few years, but recently I have been taking the Wilton cake decorating courses. I'd like to share some of the things I have learned with you. The cupcakes below were done for a couple that recently got married and I was asked to make something to celebrate their marriage at our church as they got married out of town. I learned how to do these flowers at the 2nd course I took.
I am currently taking the 3rd Wilton cake decorating course and these are some of the flowers that I am learning to make out of gum paste and fondant. I am having a lot of fun making these flowers. I think they look so real and delicate and I love the process of making them. One is a rose (which I think you already figured out) and the other is a carnation. I love how real these flowers can look. Enjoy.

Hello all, I would like to share with you the first designs that I have created for Tickle Trunk Memories. I really enjoyed creating these and felt that I stretched my creativity using the products that they provided me. I was given the Basic Grey Picadilly line of paper. I hope you enjoy what I have created. If you would like to know more about what supplies I used for these cards please go to tickletrunkmemories.ca.

Well, life has been extremely busy the last month. I was asked to do some wedding invitations for someone and this has taken up a bit of time. So, I am posting the results of this adventure. The theme for the invitation is a travel theme and the colors were a bit unusual (dark purple and orange), but I think it turned out very well. The inside of the invitation has three pieces of information. There is a map to the venue, a "postcard" that serves as an RSVP and also a "baggage tag" that explains the gift registry. I did not include a picture with the couples wording as I felt that this was private.

I'm really excited to share some news. I have been asked to join the design team that I was interviewing for! This is my first time being part of a design team and I'm looking forward to being challenged creatively. I can sometimes get stuck in a bit of a rutt and this will definitely help me stretch. I'm looking forward to seeing what all the members of the design team come up with. Please check out the shop at tickletrunkmemories.ca and check out the other design team members blogs. The links are on the right. Congratulations all. Yahoo!!

Welcome one and all! This is my first time doing a blog so I ask that you bear with me while I figure this all out. I am a crafter and have recently opened up an Etsy store (check out my links). I love all kinds of crafts, but have been really into scrapbooking and card making lately. I am "interviewing" to be on a design team for an online scrapbook store and one of the requirements is to have a personal blog. So here goes!!
I will start by posting a few samples of the cards I have made. My style leans toward more simple designs and not a lot of embelishments. This design was inspired by the paper but most importantly was made for a good friend who is going to Paris in the spring.

This is another set of cards that I made from a paper pad that I got from a friend a couple years ago, but finally had time to do something with. The colors are so rich and the butterflies are one of my favorite things. I also found a Cricut cartridge named Ornamental Iron that I used for the scroll work. Such a beautiful detail to be able to add to any card.
